The presented edition examines Ukrainian clothing as one of the most informative material sources for understanding the history of a people. In her fundamental work, Zinaida Vasina convincingly demonstrates that Ukrainian civilization has over 10,000 years of continuous history — from the Late Paleolithic, through the Trypillian culture, the Bronze Age, the era of the Cimmerians, Scythians, and Sarmatians, Kyivan Rus, up to the Cossack Hetmanate period, when Ukrainian national clothing was formed.
